After doing tons and tons of research, reading about solar, reviewing companies and narrowing down to two companies that I really liked, I ultimately chose Castaways.Elisa was the first person to contact me and she was very communicative and patient! I had a million and one questions and asked for quite a few quotes that she had no issues drawing up and getting back to me in a timely manner.I ended up signing a contract in late January and have gotten installed as of today 3/14/23 with REC 395w panels and IQ8M micro inverters that are the ideal pair.Doug and his crew were punctual and professional and cleaned up after themselves and answered all the questions I asked. They showed up at my home at 7am sharp and the crew was done with the install about 12-12:30. They had to stick around a little longer because Enphase had a few software kinks that needed to be worked out and I definitely appreciate them staying to make sure it was all good.Some advice I’d like to give which isn’t specific to castaways but any company in general, make sure you read your contract and ask about promos and get a full understanding of what you’re signing, so that you can take advantage of all the benefits available to you.I will be updating this review as time goes on.

This company has a great price and don't just sell you solar but also energy efficient solutions to reduce your overall energy consumption.Elisa is a great individual to talk to as she puts no pressure to sell you anything. She always comes with common sense which is hard to find now a days.I got installed in about 30 days from signing the contract and couldn't of have been more happy with the communication from their team.This company had the best price after talking to 4+ different solar providers. The one thing I loved a out them was they are a local company that won't change their name in a couple years and leave you out to dry.This is the best Solar company in central Florida.

I spent several months looking into solar. Had sales people come to my house got the sales pitch and the prices were all over the place.I took my time educating myself about the different panels, the inverters, the specs and what they meant. Warranties etc.I made a decision on a company but when I emailed them they never called me back. At that point I decided to search again.Castaways energy is not going to come up on your top search results when you look to buy solar. I found them entirely by accident. I knew the panels I wanted and went into their website and looked for certified installers in the area. I found them and decided to give them a call. I spoke with Elisa and she was great every step of the way. She was informative but not pushy. She gave me a very fair quote. I know this because I had been looking earlier.But to me the best part about the experience with castaways is the follow through. I was kept informed every step of the way. All the paperwork was done diligently and efficiently. And I had my panels installed yesterday. The whole process from when I first spoke to them to when my panels got installed took about 4 weeks.I've seen cases with other companies based on reviews that the communication has been poor and it took 4 to 5 months before the panels got installed. So I was very blessed to have not had that problem.When it comes to the installation. That's castaways strength. They are an installation company before they are a solar sales company. So there's a chance they're the ones installing the panels that were sold to you by someone else. The installation went through without a hitch. I got a 10.8 kWh system installed on my roof and they did it in one day. Everything was done very professionally. Inspector comes today to get the final ok and then I have to wait on Duke energy so I can get turned on. I very strongly recommend this company. I believe you get a better customer experience when you cut the middle man.*****UPDATE 9/29/22*****My panels have been on for a few weeks and everything is working great as expected.But the reason I'm writing this update is because of something Castaways did to go above and beyond for their customers.With the pending arrival of hurricane Ian I received an email on Tuesday afternoon from Castaways upper management assuring me that the panels are designed to withstand sustained winds of up to 145 mph. They also let me know that if anything did happen they would be there to help every step of the way and they proactively provided the contact information to easily get in touch with them if something happened. It's the first time a company has done this in my personal experience. They did a great job in putting me at ease both with the reliability of the product and their dependability to be there for us customers in case something unexpected did happen. I will talk this company up to anyone who will listen. That attention to the little details of customer service is extremely rare and should be valued and acknowledged when given.
