EcoFlow Smart Home Panel Installation in Florida

Intelligent Backup Power for Central Florida Homes

There is a better version of home ownership where a Florida power outage is an inconvenience, not a crisis. Your refrigerator stays cold, your internet remains connected, essential lights stay on, and the circuits your family depends on continue operating while the neighborhood waits for utility power to return.

The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 connects selected household circuits with compatible EcoFlow battery storage, solar charging, and generator equipment through one intelligent energy-management system. Through the EcoFlow App, homeowners can monitor energy use, adjust circuit priorities, manage battery reserves, and control how stored power is used during an outage.

Castaways Energy provides professional home-energy and electrical upgrades for homeowners in Orlando and throughout Central Florida. Our locally based team evaluates your electrical system, energy use, backup-power priorities, and future plans before recommending a solution for your home.

Your home is your island. Castaways Energy helps keep it powered.

What Is the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel?

The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 is an intelligent 12-circuit subpanel that serves as the central control point for a compatible EcoFlow home battery-backup system. It can manage up to 12 120-volt circuits or six 240-volt circuits, depending on the installation and the electrical loads selected for backup.

The panel integrates with compatible EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra and DELTA Pro 3 systems, as well as qualifying solar and generator configurations. Homeowners can monitor the system and control connected circuits through the EcoFlow App, PowerInsight display, or online dashboard.

Instead of treating every electrical load equally, the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 allows selected circuits to be organized according to their importance. During an outage, homeowners can preserve battery capacity for essential needs while reducing or temporarily turning off lower-priority loads.

Depending on the home and system design, backed-up circuits may include:

  • Refrigerators and freezers
  • Internet and communication equipment
  • Essential lighting and outlets
  • Security systems
  • Medical equipment
  • Garage-door equipment
  • Well or water equipment
  • Selected air-conditioning loads
  • Other homeowner-designated circuits

The final circuit selection is based on available battery capacity, inverter output, appliance requirements, electrical configuration, and the homeowner’s priorities.

Why Central Florida Homeowners Choose EcoFlow Smart Backup Power

Florida homeowners face power interruptions caused by hurricanes, tropical storms, lightning, falling trees, utility failures, and heavy demand on the electrical grid. The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 is designed to make backup power easier to manage before, during, and after an outage.

Circuit-Level Backup Control

Many backup systems require homeowners to decide which loads will receive power when the system is installed. EcoFlow adds greater flexibility by allowing connected circuits to be organized into three levels of priority through Circuit Control mode.

This makes it possible to reserve battery capacity for the circuits that matter most while pausing lower-priority loads. Priorities can be managed through the EcoFlow App without requiring the homeowner to manually operate individual breakers during an outage.

For example, a homeowner may choose to prioritize refrigeration, internet, security equipment, and essential lighting while temporarily reducing power to pool equipment, water heating, or selected HVAC loads.

Automatic Backup in Under 20 Milliseconds

When paired with a compatible EcoFlow battery system, the Smart Home Panel 2 can switch selected circuits from utility power to battery backup in under 20 milliseconds. This rapid transition helps connected lights, appliances, and electronic equipment continue operating with minimal interruption.

Actual equipment behavior depends on the complete system configuration, connected loads, battery status, and installation.

Expandable Battery Storage

The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 can connect with up to three compatible DELTA Pro Ultra inverters and as many as fifteen stackable 6 kWh batteries. A fully expanded DELTA Pro Ultra configuration can reach up to 90 kWh of storage and 21.6 kW of output.

Homeowners do not necessarily need the maximum configuration. Castaways Energy can evaluate the appliances and circuits you want to support, how long you want backup power to last, and whether you plan to expand the system later.

Smarter Storm Preparation

The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 includes a Storm Warnings mode that evaluates weather conditions and can prepare the connected battery system ahead of severe weather. EcoFlow states that the system can recharge batteries before a forecasted event and preserve stored energy for a possible outage.

For Central Florida homeowners, this can provide an additional layer of preparation during hurricane and severe-storm season. Internet connectivity, weather data, system settings, and available grid power affect how these features operate.

Solar, Battery, and Generator Integration

The Smart Home Panel 2 can manage energy from compatible EcoFlow batteries, solar charging equipment, and qualifying portable generators. EcoFlow identifies compatibility with certain 3–12 kW portable gas generators as part of its backup-power ecosystem.

The exact design depends on the battery model, generator, solar configuration, electrical service, selected circuits, and applicable code requirements. Castaways Energy can review the entire proposed system before installation.

Time-of-Use Energy Management

Where a homeowner’s utility offers time-of-use pricing, the EcoFlow system can be configured to charge batteries during lower-cost periods and use stored energy during more expensive peak hours.

The platform includes Time-of-Use, Self-Power, Scheduled Tasks, and Backup Reserve modes. These settings allow homeowners to balance everyday energy savings with the amount of battery capacity they want reserved for a future outage.

Savings are not guaranteed and depend on the utility rate structure, household consumption, solar production, battery capacity, equipment efficiency, and system settings.

Energy Monitoring From One App

The EcoFlow App provides information about household energy consumption, battery capacity, grid status, solar or generator input, and connected circuits. Homeowners can view real-time information and remotely control supported circuits from a phone.

This visibility can help homeowners answer important questions:

  • How much battery capacity remains?
  • Which connected circuits are using the most electricity?
  • Which loads should be reduced to extend backup time?
  • Is the home currently using grid, solar, or stored battery energy?
  • How much battery capacity should be reserved for an outage?

FAQs About EcoFlow Residential Energy Storage

A standard transfer switch simply cuts over your whole home to backup power when the grid fails—with no intelligence, no circuit prioritization, and no app control. The EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 manages up to 10 circuits independently, switches to backup in under 30 milliseconds, integrates directly with solar and battery storage, and gives you real-time control and monitoring from your phone. It’s the difference between a light switch and a smart home system.

It depends on your battery capacity and load. The Smart Home Panel 2 is designed to manage which circuits run during an outage—prioritizing critical loads like your refrigerator, sump pump, lighting, and medical equipment to extend backup duration. Paired with one or more EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra batteries, most homeowners can run their essential circuits for 24 to 72 hours or more depending on usage.

Yes. The Smart Home Panel 2 is designed to replace your existing breaker panel entirely, serving as both your home’s primary electrical panel and its smart energy management hub. In homes with insufficient electrical service, we’ll also handle a main panel upgrade to 200-amp service before installation to ensure your home has the capacity to support it.

The Smart Home Panel 2 integrates directly with EcoFlow battery systems, which connect to your solar array. During the day, solar charges your battery and powers your home simultaneously. The panel intelligently routes energy to your highest-priority circuits first, stores surplus in the battery, and only draws from the grid when both solar and battery are insufficient. The result is maximum self-consumption and minimum grid dependence.
